You can grow microgreens at home with very little equipment: a shallow tray with drainage, a growing medium, seeds meant for sprouting or microgreens, and a bright spot.
Spread the medium evenly, moisten it, and scatter seeds fairly densely across the surface. Press them in gently without burying them.
Cover the tray for the first few days so the seeds stay dark and moist while they germinate. Mist lightly whenever the surface starts to dry out.
Once the seedlings start to lift, move the tray into bright light and keep watering from the bottom or with a fine mist.
Timing varies by variety, so follow the guidance on your seed packet. When the first true leaves are open, snip above the soil line and eat them fresh.
Keep everything clean, use fresh medium for each batch and make sure there is good airflow to help keep mould away.
